ASTM F2200 and the Gate Itself
Most entrapment incidents involve the gate rather than the operator: a gap that closes as the leaf travels, an exposed roller, a picket passing close to a fixed post. ASTM F2200 addresses exactly those construction details, and it applies whether the gate is new or is an existing one being automated. We assess an existing leaf against it before quoting automation and include any screening, guarding or edge protection the standard calls for in the written scope.
Loop Detection and Vehicle Sensing
Inductive loops cut into the driveway do three distinct jobs. An exit loop opens the gate for a vehicle leaving, a safety loop holds it open while a vehicle is beneath it, and a shadow loop prevents closure onto a vehicle stopped in the opening. Gates that close on cars are usually missing the second or third. We saw-cut and seal loops into the surface rather than surface-mounting them, since a proud loop is destroyed by tire traffic within weeks.
Emergency Services Access

Install, Wire and Commission
Conduit and cabling go in, the operator is mounted and aligned, safety devices are installed to the monitored inputs, and loops are cut and sealed. The gate is then run through its full travel under load with every safety device tested rather than assumed working.
Handover and Follow-Up
You receive a written handover covering opener programming, remote pairing and the manual release. We return once the gate has settled to re-level hinges and re-tension hardware, because a newly automated gate beds in over its first weeks.
