About Bellflower Metal Gates

Bellflower Metal Gates is a metal gate fabricator and installer based in Bellflower, California, with more than twenty years of work on driveway gates, wrought iron entry gates, sliding and cantilever gates, commercial security gates and the automation and access control behind them. We are a fabrication shop first: the gates we install are the gates we cut, weld, prepare and coat ourselves.

That matters more than it might sound. A company that installs bought-in panels is limited to the sizes those panels come in and is dependent on a supplier whenever something needs replacing. Building our own means a gate is made to the opening it will actually fill, and a damaged section is remade rather than reordered and waited on.

Our Approach

We start every gate against two things: the opening and the code. The opening gets measured for slope, crown and the arc a leaf would sweep, so the gate clears the driveway through its whole travel rather than only at the closed position. The height and setback get checked against Bellflower’s own zoning before a design is drawn, not after the steel is up, which is the difference between a redraw and a rebuild.

From there the work is deliberately sequential. You approve a dimensioned shop drawing before anything is cut. Steel is prepared and coated before assembly, so the inside faces of the frame are protected rather than left bare where corrosion actually starts. Where a gate is automated, the operator is sized to the actual leaf weight and daily cycle count rather than to a catalogue default for a gate of that width.

One crew takes the job from footing to final adjustment, with no handover between trades midway through. Where a property needs emergency vehicle access, that is worked out at design stage so the fire department’s requirement is part of the drawing rather than a change order later. You get a written handover covering opener programming, remote pairing and the manual release, and we come back once the gate has settled on its footings to re-level the hinges and re-tension the hardware.
